It’s that time of year again, time to enjoy the beautiful color changing trees of the Rocky Mountains. The leaves are already changing. You don’t have much time to enjoy the changing of the seasons.
After spending last weekend up in the mountains enjoying the great Colorado wilderness I would highly recommend that you take the time to enjoy this great fall Colorado camping weather. It is a bit cooler up in the high country so make sure that you take some cold weather gear. The days are still nice and warm but the evenings it can get quite cool. There are even some places that are starting to get snow overnight.
If you do not have the time to go camping you should really find some time to get up to the mountains to enjoy the wonderful scenery on a day trip. The trees are changing quickly so it’s hard to suggest the best places to go since they might be done by the time you read this article. However start your tour at a low altitude and if the aspen have changed just keep making your way further up in elevation. Some popular locations are near Georgetown, Telluride, Pikes Peak and along the Poudre canyon.
Whether you are heading up for the day or you are heading up for a few days camping make sure that you take your camera. There are all kinds of great opportunities for some fantastic pictures. Remember to take pictures of the scenery and pictures of those you go up camping with. They can make for some great pictures of your friends and family.
Enjoy this beautiful fall season in Colorado and get to the mountains for some camping during this great time of year!
